Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 September 2026

This policy explains what personal data Digital Skating School collects when you visit digitalskatingschool.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. It also serves as our cookie policy.

Who we are

The controller responsible for your data is:

Studio Maja Luther, trading as Digital Skating School
Registered office: Zürich, Switzerland
Email: hello@digitalskatingschool.com

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as Swiss law does not require one for a business of our size.

Which law applies

We are based in Switzerland, so the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) applies to everything we do. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also applies to your data, and the rights described below include your GDPR rights.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you fill in a form on the site, sign up for our newsletter, request a free tutorial, or write to us, we collect your first name and email address, along with anything else you choose to put in the message.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting and analytics tools record your IP address, browser type and version, device type, the pages you view, the time and date of your visit, how long you stay, and the site you arrived from. Analytics data is only collected if you allow it through the cookie banner.

We do not collect payment card details on this website. Courses and community access are sold through Skool, which handles payment on its own platform under its own privacy policy.

Why we use it

  • To run the website and keep it secure. Hosting, spam filtering and error handling. Legal basis under the GDPR: our legitimate interest in operating a working, secure site.
  • To answer you. If you write to us or submit a form, we use your details to reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding, or performance of a contract where you have bought something from us.
  • To send our newsletter. Only if you sign up. You can unsubscribe from any email we send. Legal basis: your consent.
  • To measure how the site is used. Aggregate traffic and page statistics, so we know which lessons and pages are useful. Legal basis: your consent.
  • To advertise. We run ads on Google and Meta, and we measure which ads lead to signups. Legal basis: your consent.
  • To meet legal obligations. Accounting and record-keeping duties under Swiss law.

Cookies and tracking technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our providers also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage. The list below covers everything currently running on this website.

Strictly necessary. These are always active, because the site cannot work without them.

  • WordPress (our website software, self-hosted) for session handling and security.
  • iubenda (iubenda s.r.l., Milan, Italy) for the cookie banner. It stores your consent choice so we do not ask again on every page.
  • WP Consent API and a spam-protection plugin, which keep form submissions and consent state consistent.
  • Infomaniak (Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, Switzerland), our hosting provider, which keeps server logs.

Measurement. These only run after you accept them.

  • Google Analytics 4 (property G-HDE01KGZKW), provided by Google Ireland Limited, to see how many people visit and which pages they read. Google privacy policy
  • Google Tag Manager (containers GTM-W9FCPV3N and GT-NBP3H954), provided by Google Ireland Limited, which loads the tags listed here.

Marketing. These only run after you accept them.

  • Google Ads conversion tracking (account AW-17940694206), provided by Google Ireland Limited, to measure which ads lead to signups and to show relevant ads. Google advertising policy
  • Meta pixel (ID 1266258368733802), provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, for the same purpose on Facebook and Instagram. Meta privacy policy

Other third-party content. These load content from outside our site and only run after you accept them.

  • Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited), which supplies the typefaces used on the site.
  • Vimeo (Vimeo.com, Inc.), which plays the course videos embedded on some pages. Vimeo privacy policy
  • Sender (UAB Sender.lt, Lithuania), which powers our newsletter signup forms. Sender privacy policy

Changing your mind. Nothing in the measurement, marketing or third-party categories runs until you accept it. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the privacy button at the bottom right of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then stop working properly.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not trade or rent it. We share it only with the providers listed in this policy, who process it on our instructions, and with authorities where the law requires it. The providers are Google, Meta, Vimeo, Sender, iubenda, Infomaniak and Skool.

Transfers outside Switzerland

Some of these providers process data outside Switzerland, including in the European Union and the United States. For transfers to the United States we rely on the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework, on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for European visitors, and on the European Commission and Swiss Federal Council standard contractual clauses where a provider is not certified under those frameworks.

How long we keep it

Newsletter subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe. Messages you send us are kept while the conversation is useful and then deleted. Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Server logs are kept for a few weeks for security purposes. Records we must keep for accounting reasons are held for ten years, as Swiss law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy of it
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete your data
  • stop using it for a particular purpose, including direct marketing
  • hand it over in a portable format, or send it to another provider

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@digitalskatingschool.com. We answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Bern. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can complain to the supervisory authority where you live.

Security

The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection, hosting is in Switzerland, and access to accounts and data is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute protection, but we take the measures a business of our size is expected to take.

Children

This site is aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us their data, write to us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

Our pages link to other sites, including Skool, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. Once you follow a link, this policy no longer applies, and the other site’s own policy governs what happens to your data.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the site or the tools behind it change. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised. Material changes will be announced on this page, and where the change affects cookies you will be asked for your consent again.
